The days of braces, metals and wires are long gone. ECLA® brings you Invisalign® clear aligner: a modern orthodontic treatment that offers a discreet way to straighten teeth. These custom-made aligners are made of smooth plastic, thus reducing the likelihood of mouth discomfort and making them invisible when worn.
Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign® aligners are removable; making them less high maintenance and allowing patients to eat, drink, brush, and floss without any restrictions.
Who is a candidate for Invisalign®?
- Teens and adults with fully developed teeth.
- Teens and adults with gaps in-between teeth, overbite, under-bite, cross-bite, open bite, or orthodontic relapse.
- Patients with healthy gums and an overall good mouth condition.
*Patients with very complex teeth crowding or severe bite issues may not be suitable candidates for Invisalign aligners.
The Invisalign Process
- Photos and X-rays are taken to create a 3D image of your mouth. From these images, a custom-fitted aligner is fabricated.
- The aligner tray must be worn for about 22 hours a day. It can only be removed for brushing the teeth, flossing and while eating.
- Treatment times will vary depending on your case but expect to be wearing the aligner for 9-18 months.
- In general, the aligner needs to be swapped out for a fresher set every 1-2 weeks. You will typically use 20 to 39 sets during your orthodontic journey.
- Patients need to visit us every 4 to 6 months for check-ups, progress tracking and adjustments, if necessary.
